Dr. Srinivas Chilukuri
Dr. Srinivas Chilukuri is a key opinion leader in the field of radiation oncology in India. He is credited with pioneering southeast Asia’s first clinical programme for particle beam therapy at Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, Chennai, India where he continues to lead pediatric/bone/soft tissue, genitourinary and thoracic cancer radiation oncology programme. Apart from delivering clinical service, he is currently running several prospective studies including collaborative research with some of the finest institutions of the world. He also sits on several prestigious national and international panels formulating guidance papers and advises governmental and agencies such as World Economic Forum.
He is also the co-founding chairman of Optimus Oncology, which is a healthcare start-up providing modern and affordable standards of cancer care in rural pockets of India. It has attracted funding of 5million USD in the first 3 years of its operations and is currently serving 5 large large districts in rural Maharashtra, India.
In 2009, he is also credited to initiate the first clinical programme utilizing volumetric modulated arc therapy in the sub-continent and has been the clinical lead of the Advanced Radiotherapy school. Through this school which was run in collaboration with Varian Medical Systems, he has trained more than 200 radiation oncologists and medical physicists belonging to Asia and Africa over more than 7 years. He has also been a popular teacher and have trained several postgraduate students in radiation oncology under his mentorship.
Dr. Chilukuri was trained from some of the finest institutions such as Armed Forces Medical College, and Tata Memorial Hospital and had exposure to some of the best institutions of the world including Miami Cancer Institute, Mayo Clinic, through short clinical training programmes and fellowships. He has been awarded fellowships by American Society of Oncology and European society of medical oncology for being one of the most promising oncologists.
He has won several national and international awards and has several international scientific publications to his credit including in high impact journals. He believes in building lasting bonds with his patients and in the magic of technology in making lives better. He is passionate about leveraging technology towards equitable cancer care and building sustainable healthcare models across geographies.
