Dr Rebone Maboa is the Clinical Research Unit Manager, in the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Pretoria. She holds a Diploma in Occupational Health & Medicine in the same institution. She previously attained MbCHB and Bachelor of Science in the former Medunsa institution. She also holds a Law degree with UNISA.

She previously worked in Sefako Makgatho Health Science University as a lecturer in the Pharmacology department for 5 years. She also has extensive clinical research experience over a decade mostly in infectious disease, vaccines etc., currently seating as a Protocol chair in HIV vaccine trials.

She was the sole Principal Investigator responsible for the implementation of the Sisonke clinical trial in the Limpopo Province during the CoVID pandemic.
